Merrill Auto & Electric was opened in 1994, as an addition of the Merrill Axle and Wheel Repair Shop that was opened in 1928. It was our answer to the huge technology evolution that was happening in the Auto Manufacturing Industry. The auto electrical systems of the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's were becoming outdated, with added computer modules, and other computerized elements in the building of the vehicles of today.

Merrill Auto & Electric has fully trained and certified ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) technicians, as well as state of the art computer diagnostic technology. We are a AAA repair facility, and NAPA Car Care facility Car Care Center. You can be assured with our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

We continue to be a family owned business with ties to the Community of Lakewood, Colorado since 1928. We treat our customers by educating them about their vehicles, so they can better understand the extensive and often complicated workings of the vehicle they own.

Merrill has always done a WONDERFUL job with my car and has a very quick turn around. Whether it was my headlights, new tires, tire repairs (which were free since I purchased my tires through them) or engine light issues Merrill has always fixed the issue and for a really decent price. Merrill is on top of the game. I had an issue with my seat belt chime. I wouldn't stop and I was furious. I took it to a place up the street, Lakewood Auto. They wanted to charge me $1800 to fix the problem. I just wanted the chime to stop dinging. I took my car to Merrill and the guys there had me fixed up in less than 24 hours, completely fixing me problem at more than 75% less than the competitor. UNBELIEVABLE! Seriously. Go off the beaten path that is Colfax, up the street less than 10 blocks and get a deal and quality service from Merrill Auto Electric.

I had had my '93 SAAB to at least 3 repair shops before I found Merrill Auto Electric. The first 3 couldn't find my engine problem but took my money..... Merrill found and FIXED the problem!!!!! I am so excited to have a dependable car now and the gas mileage is much improved (30 MPG). THANKS!!! I will be using Merrill in the future!

These guys are always fast and cheaper than other places I compare to. They've done both electrical and body work on my car and it is always done quickly and correctly. I live quite a ways away but still come back here for everything. Huge plus is they do appointments online and are communicative. Would definitely recommend.
